Delivery Insurance

Use your car for deliveries? This is the cover you need.

Delivery insurance for car drivers

More and more people are working as a courier or delivery driver, delivering parcels or takeaways. For this reason, it’s important you have the cover you need, and that’s where our courier car insurance comes in.

Also known as Carriage of goods for hire and reward or food delivery car insurance, this type of car insurance for couriers protects you and your car when you’re out and about making deliveries.

If you deliver goods, parcels or fast food on behalf of someone else, it’s important to make sure you’re covered when it matters with delivery car insurance.

Car insurance for couriers

Admiral Car Insurance offers four categories of cover (also known as the class of use) to choose from:

Social and domestic pleasure

Commuting

Business

Carriage of goods for hire and reward

If you use your car to make deliveries, select Carriage of goods for hire and reward as your class of use when getting a quote.

This covers anyone using their car to deliver third party goods, making it ideal for couriers or delivery drivers. You’ll then need to decide what level of cover you want:

Comprehensive

Third Party, Fire & Theft

Third Party Only

Your employer may already provide Carriage of goods for hire and reward cover, so please check this before you buy. And bear in mind that the vehicle is covered, but any goods, food or merchandise you’re carrying aren’t – you’ll need extra cover for that.

It also excludes the carriage of passengers for hire and reward, meaning you aren’t covered to use your car to give lifts to paying passengers through Uber, for example.

However, if you’re delivering through Uber Eats, for example, you’ll be covered through our fast food delivery insurance.
